Westcliffe, Colorado real estate is slowing a little as the weather is cooling. There are still some good prospects out there though.

We have been experiencing temperatures ranging from the 40s at night to 70s during the day and anything in between. Moisture has been a almost daily occurrence here in southern Colorado. Mountain home are gearing up for the winter as we have already seen snow on the peaks of the Sangre de Cristo mountains.

An Almost End to Summer
August 9, 2011
Sarah Moyer, Custer County Realty, Inc.

The monsoon season tried to hit us last week, being about a month too late and much too short. We did receive some much needed rain almost every day in the southern Colorado mountains. Home owners are still worried as the rains have seemed to stop and drought conditions continue to exist. Westcliffe, Colorado real estate remains the same as it has been all summer.

Just Summer
July 26, 2011

Here we are, mid summer. Amazing how fast it goes. We have gotten some showers, but are still in a drought here in southern Colorado. Mountain homes and vacant land seem to be what people are looking at.

Activities in Westcliffe, Colorado are slowing down. Hard to believe that school will start up again soon. We are hoping that the Westcliffe, Colorado real estate market will pick up soon.

Rainy Season?

Sarah Moyer, Custer County Realty, Inc.

In the last week or so, here in Westcliffe, we have been experiencing afternoon and evening showers which are such a blessing. Temperatures have been very pleasant.  Drought conditions, though, still exist in southern Colorado. Mountain homes seem to be popular for prospects only second to vacant land. The real estate market remains the same.

June 28, 2011

Southern Colorado mountain homes continued to be in danger with the Duckett fire still burning. Today in Custer County we are experiencing smoke from the Los Alamos, New Mexico fire.

Westcliffe, Colorado real estate remains about the same as the last few blogs. We are well into tourist season here in the valley and gearing up for one of the busiest weekends in Westcliffe. Fireworks have been canceled for us, but all the other normal activities are still set.

Have a safe July 4th.

Here in Custer County there is a fire in the area of Hillside, north of Westcliffe, that has consumed 4,358+/- acres so far. Currently it is 75% contained. Many were evacuated from their homes; some have been given the go ahead to return to their homes.

Windy So Far
June 7, 2011
Sarah Moyer, Custer County Realty, Inc.

Well, summer has hit the valley with very little spring as typical for this area. Last week we experienced several days of smoke in the air from surrounding fires. It has been gradually diminishing. As of right now, the skies are finally clear but that can change as the wind howls on.

Westcliffe, Colorado real estate interests seem to be more toward mountain land, but mountain homes do still hold interest for prospects in Southern Colorado.

Summer will Soon be Here
May 17, 2011
Sarah Moyer, Custer County Realty, Inc.

We have had a few more snow showers in the last two weeks. Spring snows are so nice because they melt faster. Westcliffe, Colorado real estate is experiencing a lull now as we await the summer rush.

Everything is finally greening up here in southern Colorado. Mountain homes are still a popular item but mountain land seems to be the number one desire by our clients at this time.
